Sleep Apnea

sleep

Sleep Apnea is a sleep disorder that occurs when a person's breathing is interrupted during sleep. People with untreated sleep apnea stop breathing repeatedly during their sleep, sometimes hundreds of times. This means that the brain and the rest of the body may not get enough oxygen. Studies show those persons with sleep apnea are at higher risk for medical issues such as high blood pressure, heart issues, Type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and liver problems, among others.

Loud snoring, morning headache, attention/concentration issues, irritability, and feeling tired after a full nights sleep may be indicators that you have sleep apnea.

Sleep Apnea can be treated and symptoms eased. Speak to your dentist or doctor to see what treatments are available for you.
